Road Dog (8/10)
Scottish Porter
Flying Dog Brewery, LLC

I was looking for microbrews for Thanksgiving because we knew we had some people coming who were beer snobs. I saw this one and I liked the name.
It's a smooth porter with a hint of hops, without being overly bitter like some porters can be.

Luckily I did have ONE cold one in the fridge. I gave it to him.
He drank it.
Later he said, "So you drink this sort of beer all the time?"
I replied, "That is the domestic beer I drink, yeah."
"Hmmm," he opined.
For my dad, Michelob's Amberbock is an exotic beer.
Flying Dog sounds like one to try. I tend to like the beers that end 'sweet' rather than 'bitter'...
Posted by: jenn at November 30, 2004 07:46 PMWe'll have to put up a review of the raspberry wheat beer we also had -- I'm not much on the hops taste, so I tend to really like the wheat beers instead because of the mellow flavoring.
