Communication Conventions

Even though this isn't a PBEM, there will be a good part of communications carried out electronically. Therefore I'd like to set out a few guidelines so that things don't get lost in the shuffle.

UPDATE: Is anyone else besides me getting two copies of the notifications I'm sending out? And if you aren't receiving notifications, please make sure I've got a definite confirmation that you are playing and your preferred email address. Thanks!

If you have any questions regarding a piece on the website, and the question can be asked publicly, please add to the comments on that piece. In that way, conversations can be shared and tracked according to topic.

If you need to communicate privately, please do so via email. For me, please use both my primary (d-singer@hall-of-mirrors.com) and secondary (tryslora@hotmail.com) addresses. I use the hotmail account to track what I haven't responded to from hall-of-mirrors, so its very important to remember to copy it.

Any email should have as a subject line either "Mask of the Innocent" or begin with "MotI:" (that would be the initials of the title followed by a colon) and an appropriate subject line after that. This way I can filter the mail and again, it won't get lost in my way too backlogged inbox.

I'm going to look into a mailing list for the group. Right now, I'm sending out notifications for important posts on the blog.

Speaking of the blog. That would be this site, and we will be using Moveable Type to do content management. You will each have a login, and I will provide the URL and your login and password. This will give you the ability to add entries to the blog whenever you would like, or to edit your own entries. This is the first time I've done a multi-author blog with MT, so this might be interesting. *smile*

There are categories defined for the blog and every entry should have a category associated with it so that it will show up in the category based archives on the side menu. The existing categories are:

Daily News
Game History
Meta Game Information
Non-Player Character
Player Character
Scenario 1

I can create new categories as we need them. For example, if there were a character Cass and the player were posting Cass's diaries, I'd make a category for that. Or if a player decides to post game logs, I'll make a category for that. Just suggest, and it can be done. *grins* The idea here is that we share information that can be shared. And if a player posts something with a spoiler warning in the main entry, and puts the rest in the additional entry, I expect all other players to buy into the honor system and not click on that link. *stern look* Got it? Good. *smiles*
