October Session Notes

This is a summary of the October 13 game session.

Basic synopsis:

We have begun investigation into a number of suspicious fires in the greater Schenectady (NY) area.

To do this, Kloe and Cass are posing as new students at the highschool with Bishop as their father. Chris Knight has returned home, as that is in the area. Adira Jones and James (?) are posing as FBI agents and working with the police. Eric Ashcroft and John Smith will be doing "Fire Safety Drills" in the area schools during the first week of classes.

Cass and Kloe investigate from their perspective while Adira and James do the "official" one and Cypher causes trouble.

Full Notes:

Friday evening, after the dinner with Max, Jamie and the others, Cypher has asked Adira to create an indentity for him/her, with SS #. Name, gender and age are not specified. The next morning, Henrietta DeLuce, age 28 now exists in the SSA's database.

Saturday we meet with President Abrams and the First Gentleman, Brian Abrams, as well as Max & Jamie, for lunch. Brian is in a wheelchair. While Chris Knight speaks with Brian, Jamie shepards the waitstaff out and then she stands as security. Max performs introductions as Chris and the Brian continue to converse.

Questions were asked of the President and she answered most of them. Her reasoning for the "black" nature of things was explained and her intentions to take the "operation" public at some point in the future as well as for it's continuence in the event of administration change.

We sign our oaths and witness Cypher's oath.

We are presented with two primary operations, one in upstate New York (greater Schenectady area), the other in the Mediterranean (extreme eastern Med. to be specific). Babble (Talia Palovna) will be heading to the Mediterranean immediately but no one else will be needed for a week or so.

Due to time issues, it is decided to tackle the Rochester matter first, expecially because most of us will be pretty out of place in the Med. operation.

Sunday is spent making preparations and getting into place. Adira Jones flys home and picks up her car and clothing. Monday morning she calls work and requests additional time off, which is granted but grudgingly. She then has Max use some "back channels" to have the NSA contact her company and smooth things over. But she anticipates that she won't be working for Trilogic much longer. Maybe she should go looking for a job at Fibrodyne Development or Knight Industries. . . .

Operation Wildfire: All fires have taken place at locations know to be frequented by "high school students". All fires have had fatalities from the high school population, starting with six boys. Almost all of them have been boys, the only girl was in the most recent fire.

Background information gleaned from the files we are given plus access to the police files: Six fires in two years in Schenectady and very near area. The last two were close, within the space of two weeks. Last fire was July 16 in Crossgates, Friendlys (kitchen fire?) Jennifer Moran was the only killed (she worked there). Prior was July 4, 2008, Jake Haskel was killed when his home burned down. He was home alone, his parents were at the fireworks w/ younger brother. They were both Niskayuna students, all previous had been Schenectady. Steven Boone, killed November 24, 2007, fire in the football grandstands. He was the QB and a senior. February 15, 2007, Mark Haskel (cousin of Jake) was killed at the Friendlys in downtown Schen. Damian Jones (soph.), October 31, car fire, outside the high school dance (Schen.). First fire was April 17, 2006, at GE, six dead (Blake, Brandon, Noah, John, Jeffery and Dean).

Bishop (?), Kloe (?) and Cass Lyndon will pretend to be a family, just moved up by Knight Industries, to this end they have rented half of a two-family house. Adira Jones and James (?) will work with the police, Eric Ashcroft will be doing a special "Fire Safety" instuction on the first two days of school, assisted by John Smith. All of them are staying in hotels.

Kloe has started soccer and made friends with several of the girls there, including Sara. Cass has joined the cheerleaders. Both of them are invited to a party at the end of the week at the house of Janelle, one of the cheerleaders.

Cypher has started appearing randomly as Steven Boone and Damian Jones, leading to ghost stories which has let Kloe and Cass pry information out of the other girls.

Adira and James have investigated the deaths of Jones, Boone, J. Haskel and Moran. In the case of Boone, it was known that he was cheating on Janelle (his "official" girlfriend) with any girl that would "put out". She was aware of this and accepted it, as she herself would not "put out".

It also appears that J. Haskel was aquainted with Janelle, as he called her several times in the period before he died. He was also in touch with Stacy, described as Moran's "best friend", with whom he was planning a surprise b-day party for Moran.

Moran was heard arguing with someone at the ice cream counter of Friendly's immediately before the fire broke out. Her last words were "It's your own fault and you have to live with it." The person who overheard the argument was the cook, and he didn't see who the other person was or hear the other side of the arguement.

Stacy has told us that the rumor was that Jake had gotten a girl (not Moran) pregnant and felt this information confirmed it.

Possible primary suspects are currently Janelle and Stacy. Need to have the girls check up on the pregnancy rumor.

As an additional note, Kloe has started to train with a gun at a shooting club in the area.
